Well, that is that; another Christmas done and dusted!
We had a Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve as my kids were busy on Christmas day – we are not too phased about that. We had a fairly pleasant time and I got the new Pink CD. From Coralie.
Sean and Terri have left to go to visit his dad – they left at 1 am this morning.
They are pretty serious about one another – they want to move in together – they have even found a garden cottage nearby to us. Sean and Terri went out about 4 years ago. So it isn’t that they don’t know each other. I think it is a good idea for both of them. Terri’s mother thinks she is such an innocent – if only she knew!!
Anyway, I hope you all had a great time, I am happy to say it is all over and no more expectations!!

me again!
You know how it is, the less you blog, the less you feel you have to share – it is true as you all know.
Anyway – quick update on my life.
We are celebrating Xmas on Christmas Eve, a first for me – the kids are all busy on Xmas day, Sean is driving to see his dad on Xmas day, and Coralie and Henk are going to his sister on Xmas day.
Nicole is flying up to us on Xmas day – at 21h30 – a bikkie late!! Past my bed time!! But that will be fun as we always have a good time together.
I am still quilting away, yesterday I went to Mr Price Home and bought a trestle table – and it is now installed in the 2 spare room – it is a bit small – I may need another one. If you could have been there when I had help to load it in the car – hell it was funny!
I had already bought an air cooler – so the car’s boot was full. You see, I have a plastic crate in there as well that holds shopping bags and cooler bags for the shopping trips – so what with that and a box of quilted Christmas stockings..) So my new purchases had to go in the interior of the car. Ha!!! The seats were both rolled down supine, and then finally I could get the top in to the car, the trestles themselves were also on the back seat. I had two guys trying to get the whole shebang into the car, it was too funny! And at this end? – Sean just took it out – no effort at all!! Sean very kindly put together the trestles and I had my quilting stuff off the dining room table and upstairs in about ten trips – yes there is a lot of it.
(So, Mr Misery, when you say sarkily “So will this stuff be off the dining room table soon?” – done in less than twelve hours – and just don’t dare discuss how I spent some of MY money – snarl – yes, a bad moment in our home, an unusual thing. And it is unusual for himself to be concerned with how much money I spend, but lately…).
I will try to show you once again another photo of the bag I made, and it has already been sold – good for me!! Nope - failure!
My auntie Jean is hanging in there, she is taking limited visitors and is starting to speak, I haven't had an update for a while, so I imagine things are progressing well.
Chat soon, y'all!!

Oops – problem:
On Sunday is the craft fair, and I have a problem - I have just sold 5 bags – yay on one hand – money! And on the other – boo, now I have little stock!!
Panic, back on; gotta make bags!!!
P.S. My auntie Jean is hanging in there, apparently there is cause for cautious hope.
P.P.S. Courtney had her baby on the 10th, she says he is beautiful! I will post a picture when I get one.

Sounds of Silence
I decided, as I am just so darn busy that to keep you all enthralled I should post pictures of my bits I am quilting; that could keep you busy with eye candy, instead of just being bored with ‘the sounds of silence’.
Last time I tried to post a picture it was a doggone failure, let’s try one more time! Yup, and again. I will try again soon.
Many, many thanks to Barbara for the gift I received in the post lately – I am absolutely in love with a lovely little fob, with a tiny frog on the end. Thank you Barbara, from the bottom of my heart.

Well, look who just popped in to say hi!
I know I am MIA, but how many times can I tell you about going to work Monday and Tuesday, home Wednesday and Thursday quilting like mad, and Friday having my sewing machine course, and using Friday as my shopping day?
Exactly – so although I am busy, busy, it is pretty humdrum.
I have a small pile of quilts growing – that is pretty satisfying – and I am waiting with baited breath for my imported stock and material to arrive. Heaven knows how anyone can manage to wait so long, I am informed that the parcels get to Johannesburg airport, and stay there for ages! That does not surprise me at all.
I am going on a course a little later today to create a quilted bag, it is already costing me R240 – so it is not a cheap nor quick and easy thing to do. Pictures will follow!!
Sean has sold his accident-damaged car – for more than we expected. That is good!!
Courtney has her baby on the 10th December – by caeser. So we can all be looking forward to that. I must phone her later today.
I miss all the internet interaction, but with me popping in to my email everyday, in and out, I am not very actively answering mails.
Please spare a though for my Aunt, she has had a bad accident whilst she was on holiday and has been in hospital for about 2 weeks in France, with bleeds in the brain, and now a blood clot near her heart. She is very dear to me and is my godmother too, so she is very special.
Keep well, everyone.

she'll never be fat!!
Edited to add:
I spoke to the child's granny last night and she has been told that her son says that the baby in question is fed over the weekend, but casually. Which does not go with a previous statement that the poor child has a book and if you baby sit you have to write down at what time the child urinates, and what she eats at what time. Ludicrous parenting. I am not sure if what they state is true about the 'casual' food intake over the weekends, but time will tell. And yes, I agreee this is only going to cause more food issues in the child later on.
=================================================
I heard a story the other day about a young couple- they are in their early 20’s, who have a baby, who is impossible. Apparently she is 8 months old and really keeps everyone on their toes. Her granny has worked out that the baby is on solids at the day care she goes to, but over the weekend is only given bottles to drink. What would you say or think about this situation? I am appalled at the fact that these young people do this and claim they do it because they do not want a fat baby.

my 5c's worth
I am pretty amazed at how most people are still coming to terms with Obama’s colour. To me it was never about his colour that inspired me, it was about his beliefs and his honesty that appeared to me. He is an honest young man who can make a difference.
I find it sad that the people whose blogs I am reading are saying that it is such a momentous moment in America’s history because he is black. Huh!! He is the best candidate.
I thought that McCain’s campaign was flawed that he continually had to tell us about how he was a POW, like we had a very short attention span, and that was the only reason to vote for him. Then of course, the next black mark was the anti-abortion idea; then the capper was Sarah Palin, who is a wacko. There are too many reasons to list here; you all know what they are.
